Our services, Specialised Counselling for OCD and Phobias

Swallow Your Fear
I offer specialised counselling services to help individuals overcome the fear of swallowing and choking, a condition that can be paralysing and deeply affect daily life. This fear is often categorised under various conditions, including but not limited to, ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), Sensorimotor OCD and of course Phagophobia, and Pseudodysphagia.
Having personally battled this debilitating condition, I understand the emotional and psychological toll it can take. My mission is to guide you on your path to recovery with a combination of counselling and proven techniques tailored to your unique needs.
Together, we can work towards helping you regain control and feel empowered in your journey toward healing.

OCD
Understanding Intrusive Thoughts, Intrusive thoughts can feel deeply distressing, leaving you questioning yourself and your values. These thoughts are unwanted, often shocking, and almost always the exact opposite of who you are as a person. They may seem persistent and overwhelming, but it’s important to understand that they are a symptom of OCD, not a reflection of your true self.
I can help you navigate the complex world of intrusive thoughts by breaking them down and addressing the beliefs that fuel them. Together, we’ll uncover the irrational patterns that keep these thoughts alive and work to replace fear and self-doubt with clarity and understanding.
Through evidence-based techniques, I’ll help you accept these thoughts for what they truly are, a symptom of your OCD. You don’t have to let intrusive thoughts define you or your life. With the right support, you can move forward with confidence and peace of mind. I also offer counselling for all aspects of OCD

Anxiety
I also specialise in counselling for general anxiety disorders, helping individuals manage and overcome the symptoms of anxiety, such as panic attacks, excessive worry, and physical tension. Through personalised support,
I provide insights into the root causes of anxiety and offer practical techniques to help you regain control and find calm. My goal is to empower you with tools and strategies to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and ease
My Personal Journey with the Fear of Swallowing
I know firsthand how overwhelming and isolating the fear of swallowing and choking can be.
For years, I battled this debilitating condition, struggling to understand what was happening to me. Despite seeking answers, I found very little information available, and many medical professionals didn’t fully grasp the nature of this disorder.
It wasn’t until I discovered supportive online communities, such as Facebook groups, that I realised I wasn’t alone. Connecting with others who shared similar struggles gave me the reassurance and hope I desperately needed. While this condition is often labeled as “rare,” I’ve learned that millions of people worldwide are silently suffering from it.
As a counsellor, my background in mental health helped me understand the cognitive processes behind my fear. Using this insight, I designed personalised tasks and challenges to gradually confront and overcome my fear of swallowing and choking. It wasn’t easy, but through patience, determination, and a deeper understanding of the condition, I was able to regain control of my life.
I know how difficult this journey can be, and I wish I had access to the kind of support I now offer. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others navigate this challenge—so no one has to face it alone.
